VINIFICATION: Picked when overripe, the grapes are de-stemmed, then macerate and ferment at controlled temperature for about 8-12 days in vertical vats. Racked off and pressed, the wine is decanted in stainless steel tanks.
ORGANOLEPTIC CHARACTERISTICS: Refosco dal Peduncolo Rosso is the local red wine of Friuli. Refosco Villa Caratti has an intense ruby red colour, with deep purplish hints when young. On the nose it is intense, vinous, with scents of riped plums and raspberries. Very pleasant in flavor, with light and soft tannins and a velvety chocolate finish.
FOOD PAIRING: This wine is perfect with pasta and rice, vegetable soup and medium rare red meat.
SERVING TEMPERATURE: 18-19° C.
